What Causes Panic Attacks in People?

Your boss is a highly motivated task master. He is always on time, always working hard at his desk, getting things done. He has many responsibilities, and he's not afraid to tell someone to get to work. Everyone in the office either loves him or is afraid of his wrath. His strong exterior is not really his true image, however. He is in fact sometimes extremely vulnerable to a sort of anxiety, called a panic attack. But just what causes panic attacks, you ask?

For many of us, stress is a daily reality. We are given it by cab drivers, family members, loved ones and coworkers. Often times, this stress can pile up without respite. If that pile gets too high, it can trigger a panic attack.

Other causes can be less noticeable. A greater understanding of the world around you, a sudden piece of bad news, or an unrecognized threat making itself know can all have a catastrophic impact on your comfort level. This can in turn make you feel vulnerable, exposed and directionless. A loss of hope is second on the list of what causes panic attacks.

Luckily, there is hope. We do have control over our own lives, and we are not as defenseless as we may feel at some times. By assuring ourselves of this fact, we can help dissolve the conditions that will cause a panic attack. These requisite conditions, or triggers, can be banished from our minds if we have the strength to correctly identify them. And having that knowledge can be very beneficial, not just for yourself but also for those around you. Just think of your boss, and how much he'd appreciate knowing what you've just learned.
