How to Stop Childhood Obesity - My Child is Overweight

Childhood obesity and obesity in general is the gripping the world in its suffocating and rather embarrassing grip. If your child is obese or overweight, don't be ashamed as every 6 in 10 people in the developed world are. And what's more than likely is that this figure is more than likely to rise, as longer jobs, longer internet surfing, higher daytime tv viewing figures and more fast food food products will contribute to this ever growing problem in our society.

Childhood obesity though is something that should not be happening. Disallowing for puppy fat, young children should be out and about, not watching TV and scoffing on sweets and crisps. What is more this obesity at childhood leads to more often than not to serious heart trouble in later life.

So what can be done to combat this.

Firstly of course there is exercise. But don't try and force the child to take up a sport for the sake of it. Who are his sporting idols? Who does he want to emulate? Perhaps get him a baseball bat or a soccer ball as a gift to subconsciously plant to suggestion in his mind to get more active. Thinking it was his own idea will incur greater levels of exertion and indeed enthusiasm. Exercise will increase his metabolism rate which is the machine for burning calories.

Then you must think of healthy eating, cut down on all sugary foods. Get inventive with your cooking, by making dinners that are tasty and light and which appeal to him.

So do you have that desire to change his life for the better? Or will you prepare him for the comfortable option of failure in later life?
